Great care and wonderful food !
I was very well looked after in the hospital when i stayed for my gallbladder surgery. The staff were very attentive and caring and made sure that any needs were met. I was anxious going in, especially for bloods, and every person who did them for me was understanding and kind, they took their time to calm me down and helped me to relax. On the day of the surgery i was looked after incredibly well and so was my fiance while he waited for me, the staff looked after us both and treated us with kindness and respect.
Spire hospital is lovely and clean, with a nice feel about the place. Most of the team are very thorough and you do feel cared for and respected.
Having a life shortening condition (which wasn't the reason for this particular surgery) I was upset to find as I was booking in for surgery with the consultant, that he was asking when I would pay my bill! An invoice I haven't even received yet! The anaesthetist although very efficient at their job spoke to me in a very condescending manor regarding my health condition, which upset me and made me feel uneasy as I was being put to sleep for a completely different and unconnected surgery.
Having woken up in considerate pain I can not help but thank all that were involved in my care, there afterwards. In recovery I was treated so kindly and once back in my room where I suffered a bad breathing episode I felt like I was in complete safe hands, Charley (RGN) is an absolute asset to the team and I can not thank her enough for her care.
Food and drink were very sparce with no offer of tea throughout the whole day and I was only offered a light snack for the whole day. From booking in at 7am to leaving at 9pm I had a sandwich with hot drink. The hospital did feel like it was short staffed as when we booked in at 7am rooms were not ready until after 8.15am which lead to a whole army of questions, measuring, changing, food ordering etc within 10 minutes, not a very calming moment before being first on the surgery list!
Hospital- friendly, clean modern, good facilities, easy parking, visitors welcome, early morning arrival on day of surgery, met by portering staff, very friendly, showed me to the ward, explained where loos were, call bell and how to use TV, all very nice. Nursing staff responsive, i felt care was safe and would want to return if further surgery was ever needed. Would recommend
Surgery, felt safe, consultant highly skilled, great communication, friendly, put me at ease, surgery went well, recovery excellent, after care perfect, scars hardly visable.
By a large margin, this was the best hospital I've ever stayed in. It was clean, bright and well maintained, my private room was amazing, and everyone I met was lovely and really cared for me. Nothing at all was too much trouble, and even the food options were more hotel than hospital! As I was having an operation and extremely nervous it really helped to be made to feel special, and to have such great care. I can't thank the team enough for what they did for me.
The nurses here are great, very patient and caring. They took my bloods with no issues. However a doctor took my blood following a procedure, it wasn’t done correctly and my arm was painful for 3 hours.
The hospital itself is clean with very good facilities. I was kept informed at all times. I don’t particularly like hospitals but I felt safe and cared for here and I would recommend it.
The only issue is parking, unless you get there very early, parking is very limited.
I was kept waiting without any update on what time I would be going into theatre.
I arrived at 7am and eventually went to theatre at 1pm.
It's so nice to walk into this hospital and be seen to in a very timely manner by really friendly staff. The waiting areas are very comfortable and everything happens on time. Great experience.
I was in the critical care unit for 4 days and on the ward for 3. The care received from the CCU team could not be faulted. I was kept informed with how my recovery was going and was also consulted on when a change in medication was being considered.
During my stay on the CCU, the physio team visited me and encouraged me to be mobile and I was on my feet the day after the major operation I had.
I was discharged onto the ward and the care I received from the team on Ward B could
Not be faulted.
I can’t recommend the Spire, Didsbury highly enough. At every stage, all members of staff are caring and knowledgable, wanting to create a calm and welcoming environment.
I have had two surgeries in 2 years and the care I received was consistently high at every stage.
